Hi, guys and gals!  Interesting topic.  I don't like to talk...so, I don't like to talk on the phone.  Online communication is perfect for me. I keep such weird hours anyway, that it makes things easier for people to get a hold of me.  It also fits in with my occupation.

I'm not only trying to get my next book out the door, but I'm also editing 3 other people's books AND getting a new forum off the ground.  It now has over 900 members, so it keeps me hopping, answering questions and solving mysteries on why a link won't work,etc.

Personally, I need to talk to DH this weekend about food choices.  We've strayed into the 'carb mine field' and I need us to get back on the road.  We'll both feel better.

I belong to a group of writers *****ad each others books and swaps reviews, posting them on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, etc.  I just got (a few minutes ago) an email from someone I'd set up a swap with.  He told me he couldn't review my book because it was too full of cliches and unrealistic.  Ouch!   I thanked him for his candor and crossed his book off my "to read" list.  You win some, you lose some.  

Oh, dear.  The neighbor kitty is sitting in our driveway, blowing raspberries at my dogs through the glass in the door.  They ain't having it!!

I belong to an online writers group, but we don't write books, we write fanfiction! Not that there aren't a few published authors among the group. At one time (at the height of the X-Files) this group had upwards of 500 members, but I think these days we are down to a core group of maybe 35 who post and another 20 or so who lurk.

The group has really evolved into a social group, and we are a really diversified bunch. I'd say 98% of us are female. We range from stay at home moms, students, teachers to lawyers,doctors, and entertainers.

Almost all of my friends are online friends, so that's pretty much the only place I talk to them. My younger daughter I talk to online, and my older daughter I talk to on the phone and in person (she picks up the babies at my house every afternoon.)

I had the most amazing experience a couple of weeks ago of talking to an old friend on the phone for almost two hours! I could not believe how long we talked. That was the first time I'd talked to him in 20 years.

I mostly talk to my mom on the phone. She occasionally emails me, but it's usually junk.

It's getting so I talk to my boss more online than I do in person. Even when he's in the office, he's usually either on the phone, has someone in there, or is on his way out the door. I'm a little ticked at him today - this is Holy Week, I need to print four different bulletins, and so far he has not given me any information for the bulletins. He's out of the office tomorrow for a personal reason, so that leaves Thursday, as I am SUPPOSED to be off work Friday. Something tells me I will be here.

I talk to my local friends about equally online via FB or yahoo messenger and in person. Most everyone else is more online. I'm not a big phone talker and none of my family lives here. :)
